Kids Chance Inc of Indiana

This scholarship is for students whose families have been financially impacted by workplace injury or death.  Information available at www.kidschancein.org.

 

National Co-Op Scholarship Program

Students must have a GPA of 3.5 or better on a 4.0 scale and be accepted into one of the following universities for the 2017-2018 school year:  Drexel University, Johnson & Wales University, Rochester Institute of Technology, University of Cincinnati, University of Toledo, Wentworth Institute of Technology, Clarkson University, State University of New York Oswego, University of Massachusetts Lowell, or Merrimack College.  Students can apply online at www.waceinc.org.  Deadline to apply is February 15, 2019.

 

Community Foundation of Greater Fort Wayne

The Community Foundation of Greater Fort Wayne offers MANY scholarships to Allen County seniors.  Visit the website at www.cfgfw.org for more information on all of the scholarships or pick up a brochure in guidance.  Application deadlines vary per scholarship.

 

University of Southern Indiana David L. Rice Merit Scholarship

The Rice Merit Scholarship is available to students attending the University of Southern Indiana and have a 3.0 GPA, 1020 SAT or 20 ACT.  Visit www.usi.edu/admissions/scholarships to apply.  Deadline to apply is March 1, 2019

 

 

John F. Kennedy Profile in Courage Essay Contest

The John F. Kennedy Library Foundation invites U.S. high school students to honor  JFK’s birth by participating in the 2018 Profile in Courage Essay Contest.  The first place winner will be awarded $10,000.  For contest information, registration, and to submit an essay, visit www.JFKLibrary.org/essaycontest.  The deadline to submit an essay is January 18, 2019.

 

We the Students Essay Contest

$20,000 scholarship funds which includes a $5,000 award and a scholarship to the 2019 Constitutional Academy.  Students must write an essay addressing the prompt “What are the essential qualities of a citizen in your community in 21st century America?”  For more information about the essay contest visit www.billofrightsinstitute.org.  Click on “Engage Students” in the top left corner and then click on “We the Students Essay Contest”.  Deadline to submit an essay is February 14, 2019.

 

Jim Kelley Memorial Scholarship

2 scholarships in the amount of $1,500 each will be awarded to students pursuing a career in the field of aviation.  One scholarship will be awarded to an individual who is accepted to an accredited four year college or university and one scholarship will be awarded to a student accepted to Ivy Tech Community College’s Air Frame-Power Plant Program.  Students must have a GPA of at least a 3.0 on a 4.0 scale.  Scholarship applications can be picked up in the guidance office.  Deadline to apply is February 28, 2019.

 

Robert C. Batchelder, D.D.S Scholarship

$1,500 scholarship for students majoring in the dental field and attending IPFW or Indiana University-Bloomington.  Applicants must have a minimum of 3.0 GPA on a 4.0 scale.   Apply at www.cfgfw.org.  Deadline to apply is April 26, 2019.  More information is available in the guidance office.

 

Allen County Extension Homemakers Scholarship

The Allen County Extension Homemakers offer one $500 scholarship to an Allen County senior who will be attending Purdue West Lafayette or Purdue Fort Wayne in the College and Health and Human Services.  Scholarship criteria will be based upon scholastic achievement, leadership and citizenship in school and in the community, career plans, and recommendations.  Applications are available in the guidance office.  Deadline to apply is May 1, 2019.

 

American Academy of Art

Several scholarships available for students pursuing graphic design, photography, and digital illustration.  Scholarship amounts vary.  Visit www.aaart.edu for more information.  Artwork must be submitted by January 25, 2019.

 

Questa Scholars Program

The Questa Scholars Program is a forgivable low interest loan available for moderate to middle income individuals and families to assist with filling in the financial gap for education.  Applications are available at www.questafoundation.org and must be submitted between November 15, 2018 and April 1, 2019.  Information about this program is available in the Guidance Office.  Questions can be emailed to questafoundation.org.  It is beneficial to apply to this program early as spots fill up quickly!!

 

 

 

Indiana Association of Educational Office Professionals Scholarship

$1,000 scholarship awarded to a student who has taken business classes in high school and plans to pursue an education in an office-related career.  Applicants must have completed 2 or more business educational courses while in high school, pursuing a business related career, and have a GPA of 2.8 or higher on a 4.0 scale.  Applications are available in the Guidance Office.  Deadline to apply is February 10, 2019.

 

Grand Lodge Knights of Pythias

The Knights of Pythias of Indiana will offer 12, $1,000 scholarships to high school seniors who have a 3.0 GPA or higher.  Applications and requirements can be picked up in Guidance or online at www.knightsofpythiasofnewcastle.com (click on “event forms” then on “public academic assistance form/rules).  Applications must be typed, no handwritten applications will be accepted.  Applications can not be completed online or emailed, they must be mailed and postmarked by the deadline date of January 25, 2019.

 

Americas Farmers Grow AG Leaders

Students can earn $1,500 to kick start their agricultural career.  The application will be available online from November 15, 2018 until February 6, 2019 at www.FFA.org/scholarships

 

Nancy Jaynes Memorial Scholarship

Indiana Breast Cancer Awareness Trust is offering a $2,500 scholarship to any student whose parent is battling breast cancer or who has lost a parent to breast cancer.  Visit www.breastcancerplate.org and click on the scholarship tab to download and complete the application.  Deadline is January 25, 2019.

 

The Lutheran Foundation Health Professions Scholarships

The Lutheran Foundation has multiple scholarships (starting at $1,000) to award to students in northeast Indiana who are pursuing healthcare professions, including nursing, medical and dental degrees, counseling, physical therapy, and much more.  Scholarships are awarded based on financial need, academic performance, activities, community involvement, and other factors.  Visit https://thelutheranfoundation.org/impact/health-scholarships/ to review eligibility and apply.  Deadline to apply is February 1, 2019 at noon.

 

Fort Wayne Zoological Society

Apply for the Lawrence A. Ackerman Scholarship which bestows a one-time

$2000 award to a college-bound high school senior pursuing an animal-related career. Scholarship is based on character, commitment to the stewardship of animals, financial need, and scholastic achievement.  Applications are available in the Guidance Office or can be downloaded at www.kidszoo.org.  Deadline to apply is February 1, 2019.

 

Fort Wayne Central High School Alumni Scholarship

$500 non-renewable scholarship.  Must be a descendent of a Fort Wayne Central High School graduate.  Applications are available in the Guidance Office.  Deadline is March 25, 2019.

 

Starbright Foundation Scholarship Fund

Must be ranked in the top half of your graduating class, a US citizen, have lived in the EACS district and attended Woodlan, New Haven, or Leo High School for at least one year, demonstrate financial need and display character traits of perseverance and diligence.  Applications must be completed online at www.csascholars.org/starbright.  Deadline is 5:00pm on February 15, 2019.  Flyers are available in guidance.

 

Edgar H. Kilbourne Scholarship Fund

Must be ranked in the top half of your graduating class, have a minimum GPA of a 2.0 on a 4.0 scale, a US citizen, a resident of Allen County for at least one year, be affiliated with or a member of a church or religious group, and demonstrate financial need, traits of good moral character, and leadership.  Applications must be completed online at www.csascholars.org/kilbourne. Deadline is 5:00pm on February 15, 2019.  Flyers are available in guidance.

 

Hispanic Student Scholarship Fund

$500-$5,000 scholarship awarded to a student of Hispanic heritage.  Students must have a minimum of a 3.0 GPA, demonstrate financial need, and plan to attend a 4 year college.  Applicants must be a US Citizen, Permanent Legal Resident, DACA or Eligible Non-Citizen (as defined by FAFSA).  Apply at www.hsf.net/scholarship.  Deadline is February 5, 2019.
